Achieved First Class BSc (Hons) in Physiology at Imperial College School of Medicine (University of London) and was awarded the British Physiological Society's Undergraduate Prize.

Graduated with distinction in Medicine at Imperial College School of Medicine (University of London).
2002
Completed his basic surgical training at the Royal Surrey County Hospital in Guildford and commenced his plastic surgery training at Wexham Park, St George's, Charing Cross and Chelsea & Westminster Hospitals, before moving to the North East of England to complete his higher surgical training. During this training, Mr Blackburn gained comprehensive experience across the full spectrum of cosmetic and reconstructive plastic surgery.
2008
Co-authored a scientific paper on the importance of communication in cosmetic surgery; this won the annual Mentor Prize (now titled 'Aesthetic Prize') for best paper on cosmetic surgery in the Journal of Plastic, Resconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery. (1)
2010
Awarded Fellowship in Plastic Surgery (FRCS Plast) by the Royal College of Plastic Surgeons and the prestigious Bruce Bailey trauma fellowship at the renowned Ganga Hospital in Coimbatore, India, where he developed advanced skills in microsurgical trauma reconstruction. Became a patron of Restore Breast Cancer Reconstruction.
2011
Microsurgical Fellow at St Thomas' Hospital in London, honing his expertise in microsurgical breast reconstruction, perineal reconstruction and chest wall reconstruction over a 15-month period.
2013 - 2025
Consultant at Queen Victoria Hospital in East Grinstead, specialising in breast cancer reconstruction and skin cancer surgery; Honorary Consultant at the Royal Surrey County Hospital, where he sees patients who require complex microsurgical breast reconstructions.

Co-founder of Breast Group London. Focused solely on private practice, offering cosmetic and reconstructive procedures tailored to individual patient needs.
